Choosing Your Training Course

Should I choose CPR and AED training or BLS?

CPR and AED training covers skills for workplace and community responders. Basic Life Support (BLS) focuses on healthcare and professional response, including team CPR and bag-mask skills. Check the exact course required by your employer or school before booking.

Do you offer individual classes or training at your facility?

Yes, individual training is available by arrangement. Group courses require at least 10 participants. All training is onsite; we do not operate a public classroom facility. You can request individual or group training at your location. Call 602-571-6222 to discuss arrangements.

How long will my course take?

Timing depends on the program and whether you need initial training or renewal. HSI publishes a 2½–7½ hour range for its First Aid | CPR AED program options and 2½–5 hours for BLS, depending on delivery. Advanced and wilderness courses take longer. We will confirm the schedule for your onsite course before booking.

Which certification will I receive, and how long is it valid?

We offer certification options through HSI/ASHI, the American Heart Association (AHA) and the American Red Cross, depending on the course. The credential and its validity depend on the program and provider. Tell us the exact credential your employer or school requires so we can confirm the issuer, completion requirements and validity before you enroll.

ASHI stands for American Safety & Health Institute and is part of HSI's training brand family, not a separate type of course. Ask which program and certification card apply to your booking.

Will we practice two-person CPR?

Yes. Two-person CPR practice is part of our CPR instruction. Participants work with a partner on clear communication and coordinated roles, with instructor feedback during hands-on practice.

What should I provide when asking about renewal or advanced training?

Include the course name, your current credential and expiration date, and any employer or school requirements. We can then discuss the appropriate training option and any prerequisites or preparation.
